Christmas 2008

We really had a nice Christmas and were especially happy the Mary Ellen and Jim visited. Here we are at the pool and what what would Christmas be without the Pink Boot ornament!

Here are some pictures of dinner when my super brother Tom visited.  What great fun that was!   He's such a great guy.  Wouldn't let me pay.

Tom's Visit

Tom was very disappointed that he could not pay for a meal while he was here, but he was happy to have been able to swim in the pool for at least a couple of days!

Mom's 89th!

We had a great Birthday party for Mom's 89th! Bernice made us all a great meal of chicken and rice and Waldorf salad and - what was that - oh, yeah - peas. I'm not a pea kind of guy, but the chicken and rice and salad were excellent!
For some reason we started quoting famous poets, and Ginny reminded us of a great - but puzzling - quote that Dad used to say:
In pine tar is
In oak none is
In water eels there are.
Simple, yet profound...

McNally Open 2008

What a fabulous McNally Open. Jug and Jamie were excellent hosts and we had a lot of great food. Jug cooked brats, burgers and chicken the first night we were there. Mmmm, brats...

Cathy's Here!

Cathy is in town for a visit and of course we are beginning to have some quality dinner's at Mom's. Tuesday evening we were joined by Ginny and Jack, Marty and Gloria, Sascha and Gloria's Mom. We had three salads - the chicken salad, potato salad, and bean salad. Three salads and a total of 5 Moms, making it a larger than normal Mom-to-salad ratio. Actually, now that I think of it, Beth showed up later, so we really had a 2-1 Mom-to-salad ratio. Pretty cool.

G. Addison Rohlich IV, Cigar Aficionado

We had a great rehearsal dinner at a Thai restaurant in Seattle for Liz and Sascha's wedding. Addison said there is nothing quite like a stogie and a brew after a big Thai dinner.
